Dr. Whitaker was a founding member of the Terrence Higgins Trust and went on to found the Tuke Institute, a think-tank that promotes research into patient-centered healthcare strategies.
This episode coincides with the US release of the TV mini-series, It's a Sin, a show about AIDS in London in the 80s, our episode title is a riff on the tv show's title song by the Pet Shop Boys.
